Descriptions
Abstract: This data collection provides the reduced data resulting from the observing programme 'Looking into the faintEst WIth MUSE' (LEWIS), an ESO Large Programme conducting a deep integral-field spectroscopic survey of extreme low-surface-brightness galaxies in the Hydra I cluster. The observations were obtained with the Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) on the ESO Very Large Telescope (VLT). LEWIS provides the first homogeneous MUSE follow-up of a sample dominated by ultra-diffuse galaxies (UDGs), enabling spatially resolved measurements of stellar kinematics, stellar populations, and globular cluster systems in these faint galaxies.
The data products consist of fully reduced, flux-calibrated MUSE datacubes and associated white-light images for a subset of the LEWIS sample. These data are suitable for science analysis and support studies of the internal dynamics, stellar content, and globular cluster populations of ultra-diffuse galaxies in a dense cluster environment.
