Descriptions
Abstract: This is a release of processed data obtained using the VLT Survey Telescope (VST) at the Paranal Observatory in Chile. The VST, equipped with the OmegaCAM wide-field camera, with its 1 deg2 FOV, has been a cornerstone in optical wide-field imaging since its commissioning in 2011. Following the expiration of the INAF-ESO contract in October 2022, the VST is now managed by the INAF-Coordination Centre under a new five-year agreement with ESO.
The data of this collection span a wide range of celestial objects, from distant galaxy clusters to nearby galaxies and star clusters. They were gathered using high-resolution imaging techniques and a variety of filters: u, g, r, i, z, H_α, allowing for precise photometric measurements and detailed color analyses.
The observations have been processed using advanced pipelines like Astro-WISE and VST-Tube, ensuring high-quality calibration and reduction.
New reduced data are released typically twice a year. New survey projects will be added, along with additional data to the already released ones.
Abstract: This is a dynamic dataset; it is growing as new data is added. The DOI refers to the newest available dataset.
